Re: June 21, 2006 Smart Growth Meeting is canceled
Good Afternoon Committee members and interested members of the public.
I am going to ask for your indulgence and cancel this month’s Smart Growth meeting and July’s also. The intent is for August’s meeting to review the draft Plan amendments from all sources, as part of the EAR based amendment phase, for their support or conflict with the goals and policies you have developed. (Or otherwise support). That should be a fairly lengthy effort, and may extend into September.
Basically, though, we need the time to finish the work. The next meeting date would then be August 16th, same time, same place.
For other efforts underway, I attach the hyperlink to the Lower West Coast Water Supply Plan. This plan of the SFWMD is proposed for workshop on June 26th, and for Governing Board acceptance on July 12th. The County has begun its review, and will have comments for the Board on June 27th.

The North Fort Myers Planning Panel is forming, and will likely initiate its community planning effort by the end of the summer.
