An agenda is attached for your next meeting, which will be Wednesday, October 18, 6-8 pm, at the Lee County Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, 1st Floor meeting room.

 

Since the last meeting: 

1.  The Local Planning Agency meeting on September 25th.  A subcommittee of Smart Growth was present.  The LPA was sympathetic to the Smart Growth recommendations.  A meeting among four different county departments resolved all issues with changes in location in policy, (the plan was reorganized in 2004 and the recommended policy locations have become out dated) and minor word changes, except for the major policy initiative for air quality. 

2.  Air Quality.  A presentation on Lee County air quality is being prepared for the meeting of the 18th.   To review the state air quality information, here is a web site connection.  Be sure a look at the simulated air quality map for the previous day (no real issue, it just looks cool). http://www.dep.state.fl.us/Air/airquality.htm

3. Community Planning is alive and well—North Fort Myers Planning Consultant has been selected, HDR Engineering (named for three guys who have passed on, their names aren’t on the letterhead anymore) which is a fairly large international firm.

 

Attached are the minutes of September’s meeting. The composite of the LPA Policies submitted at the last meeting of the LPA will be sent to you prior to the meeting next Wednesday.   Also attached is the final draft of the Intergovernmental Coordination/Annexation report prepared by the SWFRPC.

 

Copies of the Red Tide Report will be available for those with an interest.
