SMART GROWTH

SUBJECT: Next Meeting, and assorted information

An agenda is attached for your next meeting, which will be Wednesday, October 17th, 6-8 pm, at the Lee County Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, 1^st Floor meeting room.

With all the new members, it is probably time for me to walk through the acclaimed “Growth Management in Florida” power point, aka Management Straitjackets 101, for which Smart Growth constitutes a reform movement.  This will follow the discussion on “Too Big for My Lot,” which will be co-presented by Co-Chairman Brian Griffin. 

Beginning the meeting though, will be a brief update on the progress of one of the regional initiatives promoted by the Committee, and sponsored at the SWFRPC by Commissioner Janes, and now represented by Commissioner Judah.  This initiative is a subcommittee at the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, and is a systematic review of the local causes of water quality problems, and the actions being pursued to mitigate them.

I am looking forward to seeing you Wednesday.
