LEE COUNTY LINKS

 

The Lee County Smart Growth Initiative involves the linking of the many different county programs into shared goals.  This existing  framework will alter when the Initiative unfold, and in turn the new framework will implement the recommendations of the Initiative. 

 

To understand better how this will occur, it is important to understand what the different county agencies do to currently  manage growth and community quality.  This section takes viewers to the relevant sections of county agency websites.

 

Growth has been rapid for the County and the region.  This website depicts past growth and future projected growth.

 

Growth leads to land use change This site depicts the County's future land uses, as well as its community planning efforts.

Our communities age and -without public support-often decay.  Preventing cancerous decay is a key component of any “Smart” rogram.  This link depicts the neighborhoods which are being supported in rehabilitation.

 

And Housing must be affordable to all working elements of our  population.  This link depicts the County efforts to ensure opportunities are available when the marketplace results in shortages.
